It should be noted that in general the LL.M. degree does not qualify an individual to take the State Bar Examination required for the practice of law in any particular State of the United States. Some exceptions do exist.
Accordingly, any LL.M. student, who intends to utilize the LL.M. degree for purposes to qualify to sit for a State Bar Examination required for the practice of law in any particular State of the United States, must specifically contact the desired State in which the student desires to qualify for the State Bar Examination, and specifically obtain information as to the specific State’s rules, regulations and requirements to sit for the State Bar Examination and to practice law in that State.
