Admissions – LL.M. Program |
Admission to any of the LL.M. programs at the Aristotle University College of Law is a competitive process which gives students an opportunity to further advance their life and career. Admission to study law at the Aristotle University College of Law in any of the LL.M. degree granting programs shall be in accordance with the admission criteria listed below as included in the Aristotle University College of Law Academic Catalog.
The Admissions Committee of the Aristotle University College of Law is responsible for the final decision as to the admission of any applicant to any program at the Aristotle University College of Law. The Admission Committee is made up of the Dean, Members of the Board of Trustees, Members of the Faculty, and members from the community.
Criteria for admission to any of the LL.M. degree programs offered at the Aristotle University College of Law shall include the following:
- Prior successful completion of a law degree from a recognized college or university.
As noted above, the LL.M. degree program at the Aristotle University College of Law is intended for applicants who have already obtained a J.D. degree in a law school recognized in the jurisdiction where such a law school is located.
Upon evidence of unusual academic scholarship and excellence, non-J.D. degree applicants may be admitted to the LL.M. program, upon review and recommendation by the Dean of the Aristotle University College of Law. Such students will typically have obtained a prior baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) and / or a Master’s degree (or equivalent) and / or a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in pertinent fields of study at educational centers recognized in their local jurisdiction.
- The applicant must have maintained an overall grade point average of at least 2.0, or equivalent, in prior academic studies.
- Be of good moral character.
- Have a completed and submitted an Application for Admission;
- Have completed and submitted a Personal Statement;
- Have completed a Personal Interview; suggested, not mandatory.
- Have an appropriate level of Maturity to study advanced law.
- Apparent Ability to study advanced topics in Law.
- Consideration of Special Circumstances.
Those students who intend to apply to the LL.M. program at the Aristotle University College of Law must be aware that the LL.M. is a highly academic competitive program and is grounded in sound, thorough, and comprehensive legal analysis and legal writing.
