For students enrolled in the in-residence onsite J.D. program at the Aristotle University College of Law which is intended to prepare students to sit for the California State Bar Exam, the California State Bar requires a minimum of 80% attendance in all law classes. Accordingly, students may not accrue more than three (3) unexcused absences per class for 3 unit classes; or two (2) unexcused absences for 2 unit classes during any semester of study at the Aristotle University College of Law.
Attendance in each in-residence onsite law course in the J.D. degree program at the Aristotle University College of Law (intended to qualify an individual to sit for the California State Bar Exam) is taken by an attendance list (roll sheet) which shall be distributed during each class session. Under emergency medical circumstances, where a student leaves class early due to an illness or emergency, the student must follow-up their absence or early departure by submitting an Excused Absence Form. The signing-in for another student is strictly prohibited, represents a serious violation of the Aristotle University College of Law Honor Code, and shall result in serious disciplinary action which may include expulsion. Excused absences must be approved by the Registrar or the Dean of Students of the Aristotle University College of Law. Students desiring excused absences must submit a completed Excused Absence Form to the Registrar or the Chief Operations Officer (available at the Registrar’s Office or from the web site of the Aristotle University College of Law). If a student exceeds the maximum allowable number of absences as promulgated by the California State Bar Examiners, such student may:
